Idea to Object

From a rough sketch to a printed object.

Idea to Object is an ongoing series out of Impreso, Luis's print studio — a workflow for turning quick 2D sketches into physical, 3D-printed products. Blending AI with fabrication tools, a raw concept becomes a functional object in a matter of hours, not weeks.

The Process · Six Steps
01
Rough Sketch
A fast drawing to block out the silhouette, shapes, and proportions.
02
Clean Render
The sketch goes into an AI image generator with a prompt, returning a polished, object-like reference.
03
Image to 3D
That reference runs through an image-to-3D engine — Hunyuan 3D, MakerWorld — generating a printable mesh in minutes.
04
Refinement
The geometry gets adjusted — hollowing space for hardware, smoothing surfaces, making it actually work.
05
Slicing
Into a slicer like Bambu to scale the model, dial in settings, and add supports.
06
Print & Assemble
Sent to the printer, cleaned of supports, and assembled if it needs extra parts.
Deco Pool & Skatepark Bowl — desktop trays
